so the first offical day has come and gone. but i guess i kinda left off on sunday so i'll finish that up.

around 7-8ish my host family came to pick up lauren and i. so we met cindy and matt, and their two daughters cyanne and sianna (i know i spelled that wrong, sorry hun!). anyways so we drove to their house and let me tell you it is GORGEOUS!!! holy crap it's nice. i'll take pictures and put them on asap. they are just sooo cute and i just love them to death!

so first day on monday. woohoo. lauren and i got ourselves up and out of bed around 6:30ish, as our bus into denver left at 7:27. running a little behind, when we got upstairs to run out the door, our host mom had coffee in to go mugs and egg sandwiches for us all ready so we could eat them on the bus. CUTE!

we got to the center, which is this really old awesome building, and for some reason or another i lost lauren so i heading up to the auditorium where we were all to gather. climbing up the "stairs" between the seating in this place really should be a sport. it was steep and kind of uneven, i tripped at one point and almost fell. so did the guyin front of me (thank god he didn't cause otherwise there would've been a kady pancake on the floor below, even though you're not that big zach). so yeah, based on his ability to catch himself before he fell on me, i desided he must be a pretty awesome guy. so i asked him if he wanted a pal to sit with, and he didn't turn me down. enter zach - a 19ish (?) guy from the states, who i've learned today sings tenor (although hes going to whimp out and do baritone instead). so we sit down and kinda get to know each other, althought obviously not that well cause i don't even remember how old he was or where in the states he was from. oh well . . . tomorrow?!

so a slide show starts that shows pictures of UWP throughout the 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's and now. one of those goosebump-gets-you-really-pumped kinda things. and THEN the crew comes out and starts performing some of the show, starting out with everyone walking holding a flag from one of the 18 countries represented by cast members. pretty awesome. more goosebumps. at the same moment zach and i had to put on our sweaters because of it (at least i did because of the goosebumps, maybe he didn't). now obviously i'm kinda taking stuff out, lots of stuff is happening and i appologize if you wanted to know every single detail but - but the time i get home from these 12 hour days, hang out with my host family, and get ready for bed, i'm pretty much dead to the world. like i just had day three and i'm still trying to catch up on day one. oh boy.

and now it's saturday and i'm still writing about monday. wow i'm good at this.

so the first day was awesome. they split us into two groups - the red and the green - and i know everyone in red is just seething in jealously that they're not with us. speculation is that they will be the two cast, with a few changes of people being moved around. find out monday! agh!!!!

so we came home to our awesome family and had supper out on their back patio. then we had strawberry shortcake for dessert. YUM!!! and upon finding out that lauren has never seen any of the harry potter movies we watched some of the first ones - this family is more hardcore about harry then mine. hahaha its awesome. got my first two stickers from them (i'm collecting bumper stickers on my guitar case like dad did when he travelled with up with people)! harry potter ones! one read "snape is loyal", the other "snape will betray". hahah i'm going to circle the one that's right when i read the last book.

but yeah thats monday.
